Loch Lomond is a large body of open water. Every sailing is operated in line with current maritime guidance, with equipment, training and insurance to match.
All sailings are operated in line with MCA (Maritime and Coastguard Agency) small-craft guidance applicable to inland waters.
Every tour is led by an RYA-qualified skipper with local Loch Lomond experience.
MCA-approved buoyancy aids in all sizes (including child sizes) are provided and must be worn on the water.
Full passenger liability and public liability insurance in place. Certificates available on request before booking.
Each boat is inspected before every sailing — fuel, engine, comms, first aid and safety kit.
Skippers are first-aid trained. A stocked marine first aid kit is on every vessel.
Conditions are monitored continuously. If a sailing cannot proceed safely, we reschedule or refund.
Every guest receives a safety briefing covering life jackets, on-board conduct and emergency procedure.
A hard cap of six guests per boat. Vessels are never overloaded.
Wines on the camping experience are served on the island only. Skippers do not drink while on duty.
Tour operators, schools and corporate bookings can request our insurance certificates, risk assessment and safety policy before confirming. Email safety@lochlomondboattours.co.uk.
